Honoré and Kim Afolabi are fulltime missionaries with ABWE. They work to facilitate church planting by working alongside nationals, ministering to families and evangelizing the lost. Honoré is responsible for the leadership training team. Learn more on their website
Joseph and Francisca Akakpo joined ABWE as Global Access Partners in 2012 after returning to their native Togo from being missionaries in Cameroon. They now work with local churches promoting youth and family ministries. Pastor Joseph leads youth and parent conferences throughout Togo.
Brennan and Isabel Andrews are IMB missionaries on our team. As a general surgeon and a physician assistant they hope to be involved in the ministry of the hospital with the goal of coming alongside the Togolese church in engaging unreached people groups and seeing churches planted.
Sarah Bowers is an Early Childhood Educator with a heart for the gospel and children of all ages. Sarah’s main ministry is teaching and working with the missionary kids. Additionally, she will also be reaching the Togolese through Kids Clubs, VBS, and Rapha House (patient housing). Sarah has a desire to pour into the younger generation, encourage the families, and team mates on field. Learn more here
Judy Bowen is the director of literature and audio visual distribution, the goal of which is to distribute affordable Bibles, Christian literature, and media in French and local languages. Diana Duncan used her years of homeschooling experience while she worked for 2 years as teacher at the MK School in south Togo. She’s now returning to Togo to work in Guest House managment and to assist short term missionaries in South Togo.

Jason and Charity Funk serve HBB using skills in building and maintaining hospital & compound grounds, aviation service, and teaching in the MK schoolhouse. Their passion is found in partnering with fellow missionaries and local Christians to reach even more Togolese hearts with the gospel!
Michael and Cheryl Gayle have been working with the TST since 2004. After many years on the field they are currently in the US representing the HBB Vision Project through fundraising and recruitment to help with an upgrade and expansion of the hospital facility in order to meet the unmet medical and surgical needs of the people in Togo especially the unreached.
John and Tabitha Groeneveld have a heart for reaching the Togolese through medical missions. After serving short-term in Togo, they are back in Togo serving as Nurse Practitioners in the hospital ministry. Visit their website
Jack and Taylor Kehl serve at Hôpital Baptiste Biblique. Jack is a surgeon with a heart for education and discipleship. He looks forward to training African physicians to become surgeons and Christian leaders. Taylor is a mother to 4 children and an educator. They have a heart to minister as a family to the unreached tribes in South Togo.
Liza Kessling is a family physician in the hospital and clinic at HBB. She is involved in local church ministries such as bible studies and leading a children’s Sunday school. She is looking forward to doing more village ministry as the opportunities arise.
Andy and Jackie Kirby are invaluable teachers for the missionary kids of the TST. Andy also lends his administrative skills to the Hospital when needed.
Jason and Kathy Laird are working in Togo with ABWE. Jason is the Regional Director for ABWE. He is also a pilot and they hope to see the Gospel preached to remote villages through missionary aviation. Learn more at their website
Daniel and Sherri Lethers share the truth of God’s Word through leadership training and resource development, specializing in audiovisual and technical services. They are developing a new ministry with Audio Visual, Technical Services, and Radio, aiding and equipping the church.

Fred and Lydia Pfenniger are two family doctors who specialize in OB and ER medicine. They are returning to Togo after serving short term at HBB. Faith Shaffer serves with ABWE as a Missionary Kid teacher. She teaches K-6 and tutors after school. She has a heart for children’s ministry. Through building relationships she looks for opportunities for discipleship with both her students and Togolese children.

Hannah Strayer uses her media skills to minister both to missionaries and to the people of West Africa. While she’s a part of the Togo South team, Hannah travels to serve missionaries in other West African countries. She uses media to tell stories that help missionaries communicate with partners. John and Betty Teusink work diligently to maintain excellent standards of hospitality and maintenance at Hôpital Baptiste Biblique. John works with his team of Togolese workers to spread the reach of the gospel through building and maintenance. Betty coordinates hospitality for incoming medical personnel and visitors at the Guest House.
