Currently, one of the greatest obstacles to church planting in Togo is the lack of trained church leaders. The Togo South Team has always had a desire to train national church pastors and leaders and has therefore been conducting ministry training in Togo for

many years through the Bible institute.  All ABWE-planted churches are led by Togolese pastors who have a great desire for evangelism and and have in turn started many daughter churches throughout Togo.  Too many of these church plants have pastors with little to no theological training.  Some churches have no pastor and have sent candidates to the Bible Institute to be trained.  The purpose of the Bible Institute is to equip these men, giving them Bible and Theological training so that they can be effective in their ministries to the churches.

ABWE has partnered with several like-minded missionaries and pastors in Togo to form the Faculté Biblique du Togo, a Bible college which provides classes for 2-year and 4-year training programs in multiple locations in the country.

The opportunities are endless!  The primary location for classes is at the Kpalimé Bible Institute, located at the Village of Light.  There is also a training location in Kara and plans to build facilities for a new institute on ABWE-owned land in Lomé.   Several Togolese pastors as well as missionaries and special guests from overseas teach modular and evening classes.

If you are interested in participating in the training of the next generation of Bible-believing pastors in Togo by providing modular teaching, materials, or financial support please contact Honoré Afolabi.
